Module 1 //
TRUE SADHANA

Immersion—Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedanta

In MODULE 1 (TRUE SADHANA) you will dive deep into: Yoga (asana, pranayama, mudras), Meditation, Ayurveda & Vedanta. You will study the history and lineages, learn about the techniques and practices and will understand how and when to utilize them. Your mind will be stimulated through wisdom that has been passed down for over 5000yrs. You will study ancient scriptures and engage in lively conversations with your peers and teachers. This component of the module will expand your mind and leave you yearning for more! The life of a student never ends as there is always more to explore!

After studying the various facets of yoga, you will naturally want to practice what you have learned. Experiencing the wisdom directly supports the process of integration. This module gives you the tools needed to develop a deep personal practice.

You cannot teach that which you do not know and having a personal practice is necessary to be a good teacher. Sharing with others before concepts are truly grasped, leads to a lack of integrity in teaching. You will learn how to create a solid daily yoga asana and meditation practice and how to live an aligned Ayurvedic lifestyle per your constitution.

MODULE 1 (TRUE SADHANA) is open to everyone and can be taken for personal enrichment, continued education OR as part of the required 200 hours for Yoga Alliance YTT Certification.

Join us for MODULE 1 (TRUE SADHANA) in Carbondale, Colorado at True Nature Healing Arts.

If you sign up for just MODULE 1 (versus MODULE 1 + MODULE 2) and get inspired to complete MODULE 2 for Yoga Alliance 200 hour YTT certification, you have the option of signing up for MODULE 2 anytime before MODULE 2 begins in May, 2024 OR in 2025, space permitting.

“Signing up for my first yoga teacher training with Deva and Eaden was life changing!

Taking a deep dive into the world of yoga asana and philosophy, chanting, meditation and breathwork with this power couple as my guides was a profound experience, it awakened something deep within myself that I couldn’t have accessed otherwise.

Standing around the final fire ceremony as we wrapped up the second module, I felt not only a deeper connection to myself and spirit, but to a wonderful community of yogis and new friends. Ten years later, I’m still happily teaching yoga within the True Nature community."

module 2 // INTEGRATE & SHARE

Part One : Integration—Virtual anatomy, meditation and Vedanta classes, daily practice, journaling, required reading, virtual check-ins and self-study

Virtual - May, 2024 - August, 2024
When one completes the first module, the real work begins. How do you create and maintain a daily practice in your home environment? In-between modules, students have the necessary time to apply and integrate the teachings. This is a very important component missing from most trainings. Students leave feeling inspired and determined, but without proper guidance and assistance, they often return to former ways of being and have difficulty integrating the teachings. This stage is where the real work of the practice begins and is a vital part of a student becoming a teacher. One must live the practice in order to guide others.

During this time between modules, students will have reading assignments, papers to write and classes to attend. Journaling and group sharing will support the process of integration. You will experience a natural ebb and flow of energy between modules—within yourself and between each other. This is an invaluable time for the assimilation of teachings within the mind and body as you deepen in your practice.

Along with your daily practice, journaling and virtual group shares, you will also participate in meditation and a 20hr online anatomy course to prepare the mind for teaching. All of these practices and experiences will allow you to deepen in practice and self-understanding, laying the foundation for module 2, learning to share the gift of yoga with others.

Part two: Share— Learn to Share the Practice—Teach to learn, Learn to teach

True Nature Healing Arts - August 8th - 18th
In the final module of the training, you will explore the process of teaching what you have learned and embodied. We teach because we love and are inspired by the teachings.

“Teach to learn and learn to teach.”

When we teach, our personal practice goes deeper. We must always remember that we are a student and just as the student learns from the teacher, the teacher is always learning from the student. This is a reciprocal and never- ending process.

Having the concepts grasped through the first module and then integrated in the months that follow, you will be eager and ready to share! It’s now time to focus on learning the art of teaching yoga.

Days will be spent breaking down postures, finding your teaching voice and establishing confidence at the front of the room. You will be teaching each day, sharing and receiving feedback from your peers and teachers, and will meet a part of yourself that you may not have known existed. It is not easy to stand in front of a room and guide individuals. Teaching makes us humble and shows us where we need to improve.

You will work both individually and in groups learning how to read a room, accurately seeing your students and safely supporting their practice. At True Nature Healing Arts, we value teachers that can teach to the room. We have the skills to meet each student where they are, supporting all ability levels and always teaching to the lowest skill level giving modifications to honor injuries, disabilities and restrictions. In this module you will be adequately prepared to teach an all-levels yoga class to students from all backgrounds. You will find your way as a new teacher with a supportive team helping you along the way.

During this phase you will grow as an individual and develop a life-long practice that will continue to serve you for years to come. This is a training for students that desire the confidence, knowledge and experience to guide others on the ancient path of yoga. Yoga is a practice, a philosophy and lifestyle.

- Lindsay Herlinger, True Nature Healing Arts Yoga Teacher

“When I began my YTT journey with Eaden and Deva on Sept 11, 2019, I expected to learn what is often described in YTT syllabuses as fundamental aspects of poses and sequencing, basic anatomy and physiology, and an introduction to yogic philosophy. However, TNHA's YTT was so much more than that.

Deva and Eaden's extensive knowledge provided in-depth information on various eastern and yogic models to include Ayurveda, Sattva/Rajas/Tamas, Doshas (Vata/Pitta/Kapha), Vital essences (Prana/Tejas/Ojas), Chakras, Mantras, Chanting, and so much more.

Several specialist yogis were also invited in to co-teach and let us practice so many different types and forms of yoga, e.g., prenatal, yin, restorative, vinyasa, chair, lyengar, kundalini) which significantly broadened my perspective.

One particular yogi teacher with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology joined many of our learning sessions to teach and dive deeply into the western focus on organs and systems.

The knowledge and expertise that were offered to my classmates and me still blows my mind. Oh, and the chanting we did - I'll be forever grateful for that.

I've not yet mentioned that four months into the training the pandemic hit. Brief consideration was given to postponing the training till life normalized. Instead, Deva and Eaden placed us on a brief hold while they did yeoman's work to completely redesign the course to offer several options for each of us to continue to participate while feeling safe and complying with Covid restrictions. Despite these challenges, I proudly graduated with my 200 hours on October 11, 2020, and it's all because of Deva's and Eaden's diligence and commitment.

I originally embarked on this training path simply for the purpose of deepening my own understanding. However, having experienced what I can only describe as the deepest and most enriched yoga teacher training ever offered, I am now a yoga teacher myself. I will be forever grateful for the knowledge, skills, self-confidence and encouragement that Deva and Eaden instilled in me.”

- Catharine (Ryn) Calhoon, True Nature Healing Arts Yoga Teacher
