Who Do You Want To Be In The New Year?
Heading into 2022, I want to live as my highest self. Not the egoic-self governed by the fear and desire of my past karma but the true self aligned with ideals I feel most inspired by: discipline, integrity, service, connection to source and self-knowledge.
Each new day provides the opportunity to express our free will choice in how we respond to evolving circumstance. Do we react from the mindset of scarcity and limitation or respond from the limitless consciousness that we are?
I’m tired of being who I’ve been, it’s simply exhausting—the addiction to suffering, the never ending stories of mind and the drama that ensues. I want to live in the truth of the light as the light which dispels all darkness.
And guess what? I’m the only one keeping me from living in the radiance, love and freedom of my essential nature.
The ancient Rishis (see-ers of the truth) called this process “awakening from the waking dream”. Others call it enlightenment, which is not a process of getting something but rather revealing what has always been here.
So how does one step into this highest of callings? This process requires the daily setting of intention, preferably first thing each day before the sun rises, daily practices which support our goals and vigilance throughout the day choosing actions that align with our intention.
Living our deepest intention is no easy task. We are working against, in some cases, decades of conditioning and lifetimes of karma. There is no quick fix, this is an all hands on deck mission, requiring fortitude and vigilance over many days, weeks, months and years.
Maintaining our New Year’s intention is no easy task. You have to hold a vision of who you wish to be and what you want and give everything to this quest. There is no quick fix and most will not succeed but it is possible with intention, daily practices which create a clear mind, and choosing dharma over fear and desire.
With love and gratitude for the blessings and the challenges,
