Polishing Our Karmic Stone
What powerful times we are living through! The magnitude of polarity is great and most of us are feeling friction and challenge. Who’s not scratching their heads and wondering about the future?
There will always be good and bad, right and wrong, and light and dark in this earthly school—friction is necessary. It reveals our unprocessed, unintegrated, unresolved karma. We are here to meet this karma and do the work required to polish our inner karmic stone.
The question before us is how do we want to meet the friction of this polarity—through unconscious reactivity or conscious response? The first choice roughens the karmic stone, the second cleans and polishes it.
Unconscious reactivity occurs when we feel discomfort and then project our unresolved karma onto people, places and things. We can see this expressed today as judgment, blame, scapegoating, discrimination and hatred of others who think, feel and act differently than we do. Conscious response occurs when we step into witness consciousness, process what’s arising within us emotionally and make dharmic choices in word and deed.
What do I mean by witness consciousness? Being present and witnessing life without overlaying a mental story based on our past unresolved karma. To get through these challenging times we must embrace friction and use it for our betterment and the betterment of others.
We incarnated here and now, not to change what we see outside ourselves but to resolve the unintegrated karma that led to our incarnation. As we work through this process, we rub the rough edges of our karmic stone until they become clean and smooth and in doing so we polish the greater stone of creation and make the world a better place.
