Finding Balance

This month we honor the topic of balance and its relationship to health. Most disease is a function of internal imbalance and begins with our disconnection from the source of creation. By the time imbalance reaches the physical body and symptoms emerge, we are well off course.

Yoga philosophy and the ancient medical science of longevity, Ayurveda, works with the five layers of the person: physical, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual. As we explore more subtle layers of self, from physical to spiritual, the more power we access. This is why spiritual work is important—however, in order to access the divine, we need a healthy body, clear mind and open heart.

To live a balanced, sattvic life, begin by evaluating your diet (including your sugar and caffeine intake), screen time, physical activity, elimination and sleep. Does your lifestyle support the healthiest most balanced you? Are you living in ways that align with your personal true north?

One of the most profound aspects of Ayurveda, is that the recipe for balance is different for everyone. We each have unique characteristics based upon past karma (action) over many lifetimes. Therefore how we attain balance is unique too–one person’s medicine is another’s poison.

Attaining balance requires daily attention and effort because internal subconscious patterns and external societal pressures that lead to imbalance are so great. However, finding and living from our center point is a journey worth taking and leads to deeper connection, dharma, purpose and contentment.

Join us at True Nature as we explore the art of balance. Enjoy high vibration organic food, take a yoga class with our gifted teachers, explore workshops for personal growth, nurture yourself in the spa or connect with the uplifting energy found in the Peace Garden.
