February Newsletter
Love has many shades and speaks to the essence of what it means to be human. Love speaks to relationship, community and connection but it also speaks to the love that we have for ourselves and our connection to source, the Great Spirit or what some may call God. Love is also what we pay attention to and give our energy to. What do you love?
2020 brought with it an opposing force to love—fear. Some believe that love and fear are the two poles at the root of all other emotions. 2020 fanned the flames of fear, and fear without awareness, can lead us to judgement, anger and hurt. We tend to hurt what we fear the most, to keep it at a distance because we think it will keep us safe.
Yet fear is not inherently bad, it’s a natural human emotion that can help keep us safe from real danger but when it runs continually, it can lead to stress and disease. The polarity of love and fear can be quite challenging, pulling and pushing us, but it also marks a time of change and transition. It is the friction of polarity that holds the potential for growth and evolution, two vital aspects of life.
In 2021 Deva and I, along with our incredible staff at True Nature wish to encourage you to consciously and courageously face your fears, release judgement and practice the art of love—loving yourself and loving others, even though they may think and feel differently than you. We don’t need more division, judgement, hatred and fear, we need more connection, community, and yes—more love.
This year True Nature became a non-profit foundation which will allow us to more deeply align with our mission of offering an intentional space for inspiration, connection and self-discovery. We want to continue to be a safe haven from the storms that roll through our lives, a sanctuary of nurturance and love.
Our deepest intention has been and will continue to be, to support people in discovering their life purpose and living it! We’ve come to realize, over decades of personal growth work and being a healing arts center for the last 14 years in Carbondale, that when people uncover their true purpose in life, and courageously step into living it, they are most happy and without even trying, make a contribution to the whole.
In Lak'ech Ala K’in, the ancient Mayan saying which means—I Am You and You Are Me. We are one and that oneness is love. May we all let go of fear and the judgement and hatred it engenders and courageously step into the love that we are. Let’s do it together as one community which welcomes a multiplicity of perspectives. We all have differences but at the core of our being, is consciousness and love. Let's choose love!
